Language & preferences

Switch languages, set your time zone and your notifications (health reminders, weather alerts, quiet hours).

gogeehaw is bilingual (French, English). Your language and time zone are detected automatically when you sign up, then you can change them at any time from your account.

Language

French is the canonical language and English is fully translated. You can switch between the two on the fly — the change applies across the whole app, including emails and notifications.

Switching languages

  1. Use the language picker in the header (or in the footer).
  2. Pick Français or English; the interface updates immediately.
  3. The setting is stored on your account and follows you from one device to the next.

Time zone

The time zone is central: it lines up your session times, the weather forecast (go/no-go), health reminders and notification delivery with your real local time. A wrong time zone shifts everything — it is the number one cause of odd-looking times.

Setting your time zone

  1. Go to Account & preferences.
  2. Select your time zone (IANA format, e.g. Europe/Paris, America/Montreal).
  3. Then check that a weather forecast or a session shows the time you expect.

Notifications

Notifications are tuned in detail under Account → Notifications. A master switch turns everything on or off; below it, each category has its own switch, and you choose which channels to receive it through.

What you can set

  • Master switch: turns every notification off or back on in one go.
  • Categories: training reminders, health reminders (vaccines/dewormers), weather alerts, nutrition, load & recovery, coach, daily digest, billing…
  • Channels: web push, native push (mobile) and email (email is off by default).
  • Lead times: how far ahead of a session you are warned (e.g. 60 min) and how early vaccine reminders fire (e.g. 7 days).
  • Quiet hours: 22:00 → 8:00 by default, non-urgent notifications are held until the end of the window.

Quiet hours follow your time zone. Genuinely urgent alerts (system ones, or a session reminder you asked for yourself an hour before) can override the silent window so you do not miss what matters.

Tips

  • Too many notifications? Turn off one specific category rather than the master switch, so you keep the alerts that count (health, weather).
  • Traveling or moving to another country? Update your time zone: weather, schedule and quiet hours will follow.
  • Turn email on if you want a safety net for when push does not arrive (phone off, browser notifications blocked).

If something goes wrong

  • Times look shifted (weather, sessions, reminders)? It is almost always a wrong time zone: fix it under Account & preferences.
  • Not getting any notifications? Check the master switch, the category in question, and that push is allowed in your phone/browser settings.
  • Notifications arriving in the middle of the night? Turn quiet hours on (or widen the window) under Account → Notifications.
  • A notification arrived late? If it fell inside your quiet hours, it was held back on purpose until the end of the window.

Good to know / abbreviations

Time zone (IANA)
The setting that tells the app which time offset you live in. We use the standard IANA format (e.g. Europe/Paris, America/New_York), which also handles daylight saving. It drives session times, weather and notifications.
Push notifications
Messages sent straight to your device (web or mobile) without the app being open — as opposed to email. gogeehaw treats web push and native push separately.
Channel
How a notification reaches you: web push, native push (mobile) or email. You turn on the ones you want.
Category
The type of a notification (health, weather, training, coach, billing…). Each category has its own switch, independently of the channel.
Quiet hours
A window (22:00 → 8:00 by default, in your time zone) during which non-urgent notifications are held and delivered at the end of the window. Urgent alerts can override it.
Lead time
How far ahead a reminder fires: for example 60 minutes before a session, or 7 days before a vaccine comes due.
Daily digest
A daily notification bundling the essentials (planned session, weather, reminders) at the time you pick.
