Troubleshooting & common problems

The most common cases: Strava sync, GPS, watch, slow AI, password, locked module, time zone.

Most problems have a simple cause and a quick fix. Find your case below: for each one we explain why it happens, then what to do.

No data after a session

Cause: the session has not made it from your watch to Strava yet, or Strava is not (or is no longer) connected, or the sync has not run — it is not instant.

Solution

  1. Check that the activity is actually visible in Strava.
  2. In gogeehaw, open “Devices” and confirm that Strava is connected.
  3. Wait a few minutes: syncing happens in batches.
  4. Still nothing? Add the session by hand — your data is not lost.

Missing GPS track

Cause: location was not allowed (phone or browser), or the GPS signal was too weak at the start.

Solution

  1. Allow location in your phone or browser settings.
  2. The session/walk is recorded anyway without a track: distance and duration are still valid.
  3. For your next outings, wait for a good signal before starting.

Slow first AI response (1 to 2 min)

Cause: the very first call after a pause wakes the service up (cold start). This is normal and one-off.

Solution

  1. Leave the page open: the answer is coming.
  2. The following requests are fast as long as you stay active.
  3. Do not fire it again in a loop: that only stacks up more calls.

Watch not syncing (Garmin / Polar → Strava)

Cause: gogeehaw does not read the watch directly — Garmin and Polar go through Strava first. If the activity has not arrived in Strava, gogeehaw cannot see it.

Solution

  1. First check that the activity has made it into Strava (the Garmin↔Strava or Polar↔Strava link on the manufacturer's side).
  2. Then check that Strava is connected under “Devices” in gogeehaw.
  3. Wait for the next sync, or add the session manually.

Forgotten password

Cause: lost credentials, or you are not sure which email address you used.

Solution

  1. On the sign-in screen, click “Forgot password”.
  2. Enter your email to receive a reset link.
  3. No email? Check your spam folder and that the address is the one on your account.

Locked / blurred module

Cause: the module is not included in your current plan, or your trial has no payment method saved (paid access is then not active).

Solution

  1. Go to “Manage my plan” to see what your plan includes.
  2. Pick Solo or Plus, or add your payment method to activate the trial.
  3. On mobile, subscription management goes through the App Store / Google Play (the price list is hidden in the native app — open the web version to compare).

Times are off (time zone)

Cause: a wrongly set time zone. Weather, sessions, planning and notifications are then shown a few hours off.

Solution

  1. Go to Account & preferences.
  2. Fix your time zone (IANA format, e.g. Europe/Paris).
  3. Reload: the weather and session times should line up again.

If something goes wrong

  • First of all: reload the page and check your connection — that solves a good share of stuck screens.
  • If a piece of data coming from a watch is missing, the reflex is always the same: Strava first, “Devices” second.

Good to know / abbreviations

Sync (synchronization)
The automatic pull of your activities from Strava into gogeehaw. It runs in batches, so not instantly.
Strava
The platform watch activities (Garmin, Polar) travel through. gogeehaw connects to it to pull in your sessions.
Cold start
The time a service takes to wake up after a pause — hence the slower first AI response (1 to 2 min), the next ones being fast.
Devices
The gogeehaw screen where you connect/disconnect Strava and check the state of the link with your watches.
GPS track
The recorded route of an outing. It depends on the location permission; without it, distance and duration are still recorded.
Locked module
A feature that is shown but out of reach because it is not included in your plan, or because the trial has no payment method.
Time zone (IANA)
The setting for your time offset (e.g. Europe/Paris). Set wrong, it shifts weather, sessions and notifications.
