gogeehaw is your companion for dog sports and mushing (canicross, bikejoring, scootering, skijoring, sledding): run tracking, weather, health and coaching. Everything starts with three things: your account, your pack (your dogs) and — as soon as you want the sport features — a source of activities (a watch, Strava or a GPX file). This page walks you through all of it, in order.
1. Create your account
You can create your account from the web (app.gogeehaw.com) or from the mobile app. The web is the better choice: that is where the plan and the payment are managed. There are two sign-in methods: email and Sign in with Apple.
Signing up, step by step
- Open app.gogeehaw.com (or the app) and choose Sign up.
- Email method: enter your address and you get a sign-in link. Apple method: Sign in with Apple — Apple asks whether you want to share your name and your email.
- You are then sent to onboarding (one screen at most, see below).
Web or app?
- Web (recommended): signing up, picking a plan and paying all happen in one place, with no store restrictions.
- iOS/Android app: handy day to day (runs, photos), but in-app purchase is not offered on mobile — subscriptions are managed on the web.
- Same account everywhere: you sign in with the same method (email or Apple) on the web and in the app, and your data stays in sync.
2. Onboarding (ultra-short)
Onboarding has been cut down to the bare minimum. Depending on your sign-in method it takes a few seconds — or no screen at all.
What happens
- If Sign in with Apple already gave us your name: nothing to fill in. The account finishes setting itself up (name from the provider, language and timezone detected) and you land straight on the dashboard.
- If you signed up by email (name unknown): a single screen asks for your first and last name, then Continue.
- Language and timezone are detected automatically from your browser or device — nothing to set. You can change them later in your account.
Good to know
- Your first name is used by the coach and in messages (it calls you by name).
- The timezone matters: it is what lines the weather, the schedule and the reminders up with YOUR local time. If it is wrong, fix it in your account.
- There is no longer a profile type choice (musher/breeder/club) at sign-up: the app adapts to how you use it.
3. Add a dog
Your pack is the heart of the app. You can add a dog manually, or let the AI pre-fill the profile from a photo of the paper health record (the fast lane, offered first).
Add a dog manually
- Open My pack and tap the + Add button. (The empty states on the dashboard take you there too.)
- Fill in at least the NAME (the only required field) and, if you want, the breed.
- Expand More details (optional) to add: sex (male/female), date of birth, color, weight (kg), sports practiced and sport level.
- Save: the dog shows up in your pack right away. You can flesh out the profile as you go (sport, health, pedigree, notes, contacts and so on).
The fields in detail
- Name — required, this is the dog's identity everywhere in the app.
- Breed and color — descriptive, free text.
- Sex and date of birth — the age is worked out on its own and used by the coach.
- Weight — useful for condition tracking and training load recommendations.
- Sports — canicross, bikejoring, scootering, skijoring, sledding or other; pick as many as apply.
- Sport level — optional, and you can change it later from the Sport tab of the profile.
4. Connect a watch / Strava
To have your training show up automatically (distance, duration, speed, elevation gain and so on), connect Strava. Garmin watches and sensors come in through Strava: you link your watch to Strava once, then Strava to gogeehaw. If you would rather not connect anything, you can also import a GPX file exported by any watch or app.
Connect Strava
- Go to the Training log, then Devices (or Sync).
- Connect your Strava account and grant access (Garmin: make sure your watch is already linked to Strava).
- Your new activities then sync automatically.
- For each imported activity, tag the dog or dogs involved and the sport — that is what feeds the per-dog stats.
No connection needed: GPX
- You can create a run by importing a .gpx file exported by any collar or app (Garmin, Strava, Weenect, Fi and others).
- GPX import is free (it belongs to the Walks module); on sport accounts the run also feeds your training stats.
5. Reading the Today dashboard
Today is your daily entry point: it gathers what matters today for your dogs, so you do not have to dig through the modules.
What you find there
- Weather go / no-go: whether this is a good window to head out, given the heat and the conditions.
- What is on the plate: planned sessions, health reminders, upcoming deadlines.
- Things to watch: useful alerts (high training load, return from injury and so on).
- Locked tiles (blurred): these are the modules your plan does not include. One tap opens the plans — nothing is broken, it is just waiting to be unlocked.
Weather verdict (go / no-go) — Today's window in one word: GO (favorable), caution, or avoid, based on the heat and the conditions. Includes the heat risk and a suggested window.
Today's call (recovery) — How many dogs are ready to run and how many need watching, rolled up from the Load & recovery module.
Quick actions — Plan a session, plus the context shortcuts: the best weather window detected, and access to Weather. The this-week numbers take you to the log, to training, or to the comparison view.
Alerts & things to watch — Today's priorities: a dog to check (sign of fatigue), a session to plan, a health reminder. Empty when all is well.
Pack strip — Your dogs with their recovery status as a dot (ready, neutral, watch, rest). Tap one to open that dog's log.
Module tiles (locked ones included) — The modules on your dashboard. A blurred tile with a padlock (here AI Coach) is a module your plan does not include: one tap opens the plans, nothing is broken.
6. Trial, payment method and locked tiles
gogeehaw runs on a permanently free base (the Walks module) plus paid plans for the sport, health, planning and AI coach features. A 7-day free trial lets you try everything.
How it works
- The Walks module stays free, with no card at all, and already lets you manage your dogs.
- The 7-day trial starts as soon as you save a payment method (a card). You then get every module in the plan you picked.
- Blurred tiles on the dashboard are not bugs: they are modules your plan does not include, and upgrading unlocks them.
- No card means no trial: only Walks stays open and the rest shows up locked.
If something goes wrong
- Not seeing your modules? Check that your trial is active (payment method saved) — with no card, only the Walks module stays available.
- Asked for your name again after Sign in with Apple? That only happens when Apple did not pass your name along; fill it in on the screen, it has no other consequence.
- Session or weather times look shifted? Your timezone was probably detected wrong: fix it in your account.
- Activities not showing up? Check that your watch really is linked to Strava AND that Strava is authorized in gogeehaw — otherwise, use GPX import.
- On iPhone/iPad you cannot find where to pay in the app? That is expected: subscriptions are managed on the web (app.gogeehaw.com).
Good to know / abbreviations
- Pack
- All of your dogs in gogeehaw. Most features (runs, stats, coach) build on your pack.
- Onboarding
- The short path right after sign-up. Here it is down to a single screen (first and last name), or none at all with Sign in with Apple.
- Sign in with Apple
- Apple's sign-in method. If it supplies your name, onboarding completes on its own and you land straight on the dashboard.
- Timezone
- Your local time, detected automatically. It lines up the weather, the schedule and the reminders. Editable in your account.
- Language
- Detected automatically at sign-up (French or English), and editable afterwards in your account.
- Trial
- A 7-day free discovery period that unlocks the modules in your plan. It starts when you save a payment method.
- Payment method
- The card saved to start the trial and then the subscription. Without one, only the Walks module stays available.
- Locked / blurred module
- A grayed-out tile on the dashboard: a module your plan does not include. One tap opens the plans so you can unlock it.
- Today dashboard
- The daily home screen: weather go/no-go, what is due today, and the things to watch for your pack.
- Strava
- The third-party service you link your watch to. gogeehaw imports your activities through Strava.
- Garmin (via Strava)
- Garmin watches and sensors reach gogeehaw through Strava: link Garmin to Strava first, then Strava to gogeehaw.
