What it is

The health log is the medical file of each of your dogs, centralized and always within reach. You note vaccines, dewormers and parasite treatments, vet visits, injuries and medication, the symptoms you observe, and you track weight over time. For care that spreads over time (post-op, wound, rehab), you create a protocol in D0/D7/D14 steps.

The point: never forget anything again. As soon as an entry has a next due date (a booster shot, for instance), gogeehaw reminds you automatically before the date. And a dog's whole history sits in one place, handy for getting ready for a vet visit. Included in the Solo and Plus plans.

Key concepts

Event: a dated entry in the log (vaccine, dewormer, fleas/ticks, vet visit, injury, medication, symptom, travel document…). Each event can carry a due date for the next reminder.
Due date / reminder: the date of the next expected step (e.g. next vaccine). It is what triggers the automatic reminder; no due date, no reminder.
Protocol: a course of care in several steps spread over time, marked in days (D0, D7, D14…). You tick off each step as you go.
Weight & body condition: you record weight regularly to track the curve, with an optional body condition score (BCS).

How to use it

Open the dog's Health log and add an event: pick the type (vaccine, dewormer, vet visit, injury, medication, symptom…), the date, and the useful details (product, batch, vet, dosage).
For a recurring vaccine or dewormer, enter the next due date: that is what schedules the automatic reminder ahead of the deadline.
For care that spreads over time (post-op, wound, rehab), create a protocol: start from a ready-made template (D0/D7/D14, antibiotic course, post-op rest…) or build your own steps.
Tick off the protocol steps as the days go by; once they are all done, the protocol switches automatically to “completed”.
Record weight regularly (and the body condition score if you want) to track the curve: the most recent weight also shows up on the dog's record.

Tips

The Health tab of the dog profile centralizes the whole history of a single animal: recent events, weight, ongoing protocols and upcoming due dates.
The protocol templates (D0/D7/D14 for a wound, antibiotic course, post-op, rehab) give you a proven rhythm that you can then adjust to your vet's prescription.
The D0 of a wound includes a photo: handy for comparing healing at D7 and D14.
Tracking weight over time helps spot an abnormal gain or loss early; the body condition score (BCS) adds to the plain figure in kg.
If you manage several dogs, an overview flags the ones that need attention (overdue reminder, weight never entered, log with no activity for a long time).

If something goes wrong

No reminder received? First check that a due date is actually filled in on the event (a vaccine with no next booster date triggers nothing).
Still no reminder? Check your notification preferences: health reminders must be turned on (general notifications + health category).
Changing or deleting the due date of a vaccine? The associated reminders re-sync automatically (or are cancelled if you clear the date).
The weight shown on the record no longer matches? It is always the last measurement recorded: add the most recent weigh-in and it will show up.

Good to know / abbreviations

Health event: A dated entry in the log: vaccine, dewormer, parasite treatment (fleas/ticks), vet visit, injury, medication, symptom or travel document. It is the basic building block of the history.
Vaccine / booster: The vaccine is the recorded injection. The booster is the next expected dose, set by its due date. It is that due date which triggers the reminder notification ahead of time.
Dewormer: Treatment against internal parasites (intestinal worms). To be repeated regularly: you record it as an event with a next due date so you do not forget it.
Parasite treatment (fleas / ticks): Treatment against external parasites (fleas, ticks). Like the dewormer, it is repeated at regular intervals and can carry a due date to generate a reminder.
D0 / D7 / D14: Day markers in a care protocol, counted from the start. D0 = starting day (first inspection, photo), D7 = seventh day (healing check, possible stitch removal), D14 = fourteenth day (final check, gradual return to activity). Other markers exist depending on the protocol (D1, D3, D21, D30…).
Protocol: A course of care in several steps spread over time (D0/D7/D14 wound care, antibiotic course, post-op rest, rehab…). Each step gets ticked off; once everything is done, the protocol is marked “completed”. You can start from a ready-made template or create your own.
Due date: The date of the next expected step on an event (next vaccine, next dewormer…). With no due date entered, no reminder is generated.
Reminder (notification): An automatic alert sent before an entry's due date, so you do not forget the next vaccine or treatment. It requires the event to carry a due date AND health notifications to be turned on.
Weight: A measurement in kilos, recorded on a given date. Tracking it over time draws a curve; the latest weigh-in automatically shows up on the dog's record.
BCS (body condition score): Body Condition Score — a visual and hands-on assessment of the dog's build on a scale (typically 1 to 9, where the middle corresponds to ideal weight). It complements the weight in kg to judge whether the dog is too thin, ideal or overweight.
Post-operative care / recovery: The recovery period after surgery or an injury, framed by a protocol (strict rest, wound checks, stitch removal, gradual return to activity). It prevents going back to sport too early.
